Wildcat Cartridge Design and Development Class

Gunsmith Video

NRA Gunsmithing schools in Trinidad, Colorado and Tishomingo, Oklahoma have both hosted Fred Zeglin's class on "Taming Wildcats".   Fred's years of experience designing and building cartridges both for himself and for his clients make him uniquely qualified to teach this material.  His "Hawk" line of cartridges are well known among wildcatters and many of Fred's designs have appeared in "Cartridge of the World" by Frank Barnes and numerous magazine articles.  Fred teaches you, "How to Design & Fabricate Cartridges".

AGI captured the core material from these classes in a personal and direct format.  Over two hours in length the course takes you smoothly from the"dreaming-up,"  design phase, on through die making, and case forming.   Anyone who can run a lathe is qualified to make their own reamers and reloading dies and this course shows you how.  While this information is great for any wildcatter who wants to better understand the important design factors that make a successful wildcat, it goes further by helping experienced gunsmiths learn new techniques that can save you both money and time.

Research materials are a must for a wildcat fan, Fred shares his favorite sources and suggests software to aid in the design of your cartridges.  This course is a great companion to Fred's book, "Wildcat Cartridges".
